Firstly in developed countries, in the world Civil Society and Non-Governmental Organizations come up with missions of forming a public interest in almost every field of life, such as addressing to fallacies, establishing influence on the decision-makers, bringing problems to the fore, and finally solving social and institutional problems. In this context, NGOs are regarded as the third dynamic of sophistication and development with the market that makes up public sector that forms government and private sector.
As known, the peace is one of the most important components that make up economic, social and political development in the national and international area. A close relation has appeared between global development to be provided and global peace at the present day in which globalization process that foresee free circulation of goods, service and capital that gained speed. As a matter of fact, at the present day, global peace has continuously distracted national and international agenda with its social, political and cultural dimension. Government as public sector, market as private sector and NGO’s to be in collaboration is an important must to establish and maintain global peace.
In this regard, the IIIrd International NGOs Conference with the main theme “NGOs-Private Sector-Government Interaction”and IVth International NGOs Conference with the main theme “Global Poverty” were actualized by our faculty. Biga Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, which has maintained a special mission on NGOs successfully, would like to show its awareness on globalization matters considering contributions of the four prior conference. In this respect contributions of academics at national and international levels, civil society and NGOs representatives, and private sector and government managers, are expected on topics and sub-topics below within the main theme “Global Peace” and various other sub-headings. In this regard, we hope you could honor us with your presence in our conference that will be held in an international platform in Çanakkale, on October 24-26, 2008,
