HISTORY

Biga Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences started its activities in 1994-1995 academic year with two departments as Economics and Business Administration.

The number of departments in our faculty increased to 6 in 1995-1996 academic year as Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Finance, International Relations and Public Administration departments accepted their first students.

In the 2002-2003 academic year, evening course programmes opened for Business and Economics departments. Other departments opened their evening course programmes in 2003-2004 academic year.

The Department of Econometrics was opened in the 2008-2009 academic year.

In the 2013-2014 academic year Econometrics department opened its evening class programme and the number of departments in our faculty has increased to 7 and the number of programs to 14.

Our faculty moved to its campus in Ağaköy at the end of 2004.

Our campus was named after Prof. Dr. Ramazan AYDIN ant its name has been changed to Ramazan AYDIN ​​Campus in 2007.

Biga Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences  is a faculty that operates Erasmus programs effectively.

Our faculty cooperates with 72 universities and other academic institutions from 30 countries, organizes joint conferences, panels, congresses and workshops, and exchanges faculty members and students. Many of our faculty and students have benefited from these exchange programs until today.

Our faculty has hosted many local, national and international congresses and symposiums and numerous workshops and panels since its establishment. With these activities, an environment has been prepared for students and academicians to establish various academic and social ties.

LOCATION

Our faculty, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Prof.Dr Ramazan Aydın Yerleşkesi is 10 km far from Biga town centre and its near the Agaköy Village. Biga center can be reached by public transport. Biga being on a transit road and intersection; It provides transportation to Istanbul in 3 hours by ferry over Bandırma, 3 hours to Bursa by road, 6 hours to İzmir, 4 hours to Edirne, and 8 hours to Ankara. Since Bandırma is 60 minutes away, it is possible to go to Istanbul Yenikapı by using the sea buses. Although it is on the coast of the Marmara Sea, the town center is 15 km inland from the sea.

PHYSICAL STRUCTURE

Biga FEAS was established on a land of 900 decares in the Biga district of Çanakkale. In Ağaköy Campus, where the Faculty is located, in a 29.495 m² closed area, in addition to 26 classrooms and 5 lecture halls, computer laboratories, a computer-equipped library, 2 laboratories with 13 classrooms in the Foreign Language Preparatory Building, an indoor sports hall with a capacity of 1000 spectators, a conference hall for 550 people, a dining hall, canteens, patisserie, stationery, internet cafe etc. venues are located.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

Biga FEAS aims to train its students as white collar workers, managers and entrepreneurs for the state, private sector and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Currently seven departments continue their programs namely; the Departments of Economics, Business Administration, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Finance, International Relations and Econometrics

Biga FEAS, with its competent academic staff in the field, hosts many local, national and international congresses, symposiums, workshops and panels, as well as educational activities, enabling students and academics to establish various academic and social ties.

Biga FEAS is part of  Erasmus and Farabi Programs. It cooperates with national and foreign universities and other academic institutions; organizes joint conferences, panels, congresses and workshops; It carries out faculty and student exchange programs.

In addition to making efforts for its students to be professionally competent, Biga FEAS also aims to train each of them as intellectuals with national and universal sensitivity, equipped in terms of effective speaking, expression, communication and discussion. For these purposes, 24 student societies operate in Biga FEAS. In addition, the Faculty has two research centers. These are  Dr. H.İbrahim Bodur Entrepreneurship Application and Research Center and Science, Technology and Innovation Eco-system Application and Research Center.

Biga FEAS publishes the prestigious and well-known Journal of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship and Development. The Journal of Administrative Sciences is indexed by the Worldwide Political Science Abstracts Database and TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM-SBVT.

Biga FEAS, with its academic staff targeting the national and international public and the publications that attract attention in the academic community, with its students who are sensitive to local, national and international problems, eager to prove themselves with their performances, ready to adopt an intellectual lifestyle, and who are oriented to serve as entrepreneurs or managers in the country's development has adopted its basic mission to be a versatile educational institution that interacts with all dynamics.

ACCOMMODATION

There are private dormitories and hostels for the accommodation needs of students supervised by the Credit and Hostels Institution and the Ministry of National Education. In addition, the 500-person dormitory for girls under the Credit and Hostels Institution serves in Ağaköy campus. A number of private hostels and apartments also serve for the accommodation needs of our Students both in Biga and Ağaköy.
